"Me want cookie!" "Me eat cookie!" "Om nom nom nom" (said through a mouth full of food). - The Cookie Monster!
EVERYONE LOVES BAKED ITEMS ESPECIALLY COOKIES!
Our annual Holiday Concert and Bake Sale is coming up fast on December 15th. Every year parents hold a bake sale on the evening of the concert in order to raise funds for cool things like more technology or fun field trips for our kids at Morden.
As always we rely on your generosity, time and energy to make this fundraiser a success. Christene Cardosa is the parent in charge of organizing bakers for this event. Please contact her if you can bake for us! If you can't bake but can help organize / setup / pack whatever please contact us as well - it's a big event and we need manpower to ensure it runs smoothly!
NEED: 1-2 dozen baked goods from each baker MUST BE: Peanut/Nut Free
Baked goods will be packaged into assorted boxes of a dozen prior to the concert.
Please see attached flyer for more details
We hope all of our Morden families will come together on one night to celebrate the season. We will be recognizing many different celebrations that occur at this time of year. Due to our ever-growing student population and audience, we will be holding 3 separate concerts on one BIG night! The line-up is as follows:
6:00 - 6:40: Grade Kindergarten,1,2,3 and some of the Gr. 6 music classes (will confirm the exact classes next week)
6:50- 7:30: Classes 4/5, 5-1, 5-2, 5-3, 5/6 and the rest of the Gr. 6 music classes
7:40- 8:30: Classes 6-6 and all grade 7 & 8 classes including an intermediate choir and band.
After each concert, we will clear the gymnasium, and invite the next group in.
Please join us to hear some amazing music, see some skits and listen to the choir. In addition, the Home and School will be having a bake sale. Bring your holiday spirit!
Cookies, cupcakes and other baked goods are needed for the Christmas Concert / Bake Sale. We will also be trying something new this year: Recipes in a Jar. Interested in contributing or assembling some? Click here for inspiration and instructions.
Many thanks to parents and friends who attended the Morden Chapters Night on Tuesday. We raised over \$1,000 for our school to go towards books. We also thank the volunteer bakers and students who provided snacks and entertainment! Congratulations to the winner of the \$20 gift card raffle: Samantha N. in 7-2.
Please note that transportation for SEEDS will not be organized this year. In the past, SEEDS and JUMP were coordinated by the parent organizers. This is not the case this year. As a school, Morden will not be running trips to these events.
As has been for the past several years, the Grade 7s will go to Camp Muskoka, and the Grade 8s will be going to Ottawa in June.
The School looks forward to these experiences with the students.
